Wireless Router

Wireless router is very important for personal network living.

From technology, Wireless router is mainly classified in wireless wifi router, wireless wimax router, and wireless cell router.
From used filed, wireless router is classified soho (also called in non-industrial) class, and industrial class for Industrial Ethernet Router.
SOHO is for large data use, for example 3G router (including EVDO Router, HSDPA Router, and HSUPA Router, and HSPA Router.)

A wireless router is a device that performs the functions of a router but also includes the functions of a wireless access point and a network switch. They are commonly used to allow access to the Internet or a computer network without the need for a cabled connection. It can function in a wired LAN (local area network), a wireless only LAN (WLAN), or a mixed wired/wireless network. Most current wireless routers have the following characteristics:

1. LAN RJ45 ports, normally 1 or 2 or 4 ports, which function in the same manner as the ports of a network switch
2.      A WAN port, normally 1 RJ45 port to connect to a wide area network, typically one with Internet access. External destinations are accessed using this port. If it is not used, many functions of the router will be bypassed.
3.      Wireless antennae. These allow connections from other wireless devices (NICs (network interface cards), wireless repeaters, wireless access points, and wireless bridges, for example), usually using the Wi-Fi standard.
4.      Some wireless routers also include a DSL or cable modem in addition to their other components.

As for the wireless antenna, contains GSM/3G cellular antenna and WiFi/Wimax antenna, with different connecting type, such as SMA. Normally antenna is default packed by manufacturer. High gain antenna is available for replacement to receive better and stronger signal so as to get good receiving and transmission of data.

Cellular Router and Modem Difference

Cellular RouterA cellular router short for cell router, is a router provides shared Internet access by incorporating a cellular data modem and providing common interfaces like Ethernet and WiFi. Different cellular routers work on different networks.
Cellular network are divided into GSM cellular, CDMA cellular and 3G cellular, meanwhile, there are GSM router, CDMA Router and 3G Router.
They can be deployed as a primary WAN link to a location where wired connections are not cost-effective, can also be used as a secondary or business continuity plan should the primary cabled link fail, or can be used in moving vehicles to provide Internet access while in motion. Cellular routers range from simple SOHO network oriented devices through rugged industrial units with advanced features.
For SOHO and high data requirement, 3G Router are the best to use. For small data package transmission, GSM router and CDMA router are enough.
EVDO Router, HSDPA Router, HSUPA Router and HSPA Router are hot used in many different areas such as coffee shop, small shop, home, airport, etc.

Cellular Modem

A cellular modem is a modem provides internet access by the cellular networks on GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA or CDMA/EVDO networks.
Cellular modem provides a USB port or RS232 port. USB port is for high speed data transmission. RS232 port normally is for industrial application for SMS and small package data transmission.

Router supports route features, we can think it built-in modem. Modem is a simple dialing device.
Cellular Router contains Industrial Ethernet Router and SOHO Router.

H900 Dual SIM Cellular Router

Brief:
H900 series router is an Industrial Ethernet Router for wireless M2M solutions. Providing dual sim slot for backup each other, and 5 RJ45 ports LAN switch. Built-in industrial class module to providing high performance.

HotSpot for H900:

1. Broadband M2M Communications
The product line provides a cost-effective broadband Machine-to-Machine (M2M) solution and supports the following radio access technologies: HSDPA, HSUPA UMTS, EDGE, GPRS and GSM.
The compact and rugged structure makes it a suitable product for deployments in M2M applications such as CCTV, ATM, telemetry, SCADA, retail (POS), digital signage, and intelligent traffic systems.

2. Dual SIM
Dual SIM architecture ensures that a backup 3G network can take over should the primary network fail. The router detects a network problem and fails over to a standby SIM/APN if necessary, ensuring customer's SLAs are upheld.

3. Security and Data Privacy
The H900 Series offers business grade security and data privacy facilities including:
Stateful Inspection Firewall
NAT Traversal
IP Security (IPSec) tunelling for data encryption over Internet connections

4. Five Port 10/100 Mbps Managed Ethernet VLAN Switch
The five port 10/100 Mbps managed VLAN switch offers port-based VLAN segmentation. The five ports can also be configured as separate Ethernet segments with firewalling between them. Both auto-detection and manual selection of speed and duplex are provided.

Types for H900 Series:
A. H900ev EVDO Router – working on 3G EVDO networks providing 3.1Mbps download.
B. H900d HSDPA Router – working on 3G HSDPA networks providing 7.2Mbps download
C.H900u HSPA Router – working on 3G HSUPA networks providing 14.4Mbps download

EVDO Cell Router

What is an EVDO Cell Router?
Simply speaking, Cell EVDO Router is a router working with cellular networks based on CDMA2000 EVDO technologies.

EVDO Cell Router contains all other main feature from other normal routers. Such as DNS, DDNS, DMZ, NAT, Firewall, VPN, WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, route, etc..

And here is a simple application.
If you need cell network access and flexible routing, you may look on routers with USB jacks. For example people created firmware for WL500GP (and similar devices) which includes drivers for USB-to-Serial ICs (used in mobile phone cables, usb-to-com port converters, etc) so you can attach cell phone or COM-port modem to a router and for example, use it as your backup link (implementing logic you need will require some scripting but that's not a rocket science). Surely this not so easy and requires certain efforts and Linux knowledge but this is way to go if you need something working over cellular network and flexibly routed right
I doubt there is lots of people who uses EVDO or
3g mobile router so I doubt it will have awful market success.

Actually, EVDO Cell Router is mainly used for wired backup. Once your wired cable internet connection is failed, you can switch it to EVDO connection. With maximum 3.1Mbps download speed.

Industrial Ethernet Router

WiFi router is widely used in hom and small offices. Cellular Ethernet router is another wireless router working under cellular networks.
The H900 is an industrial Ethernet router and can be configured for use in a number of different applications, especially for industrial applications. As a basic PPP Router using Dial-in or Dial-out the unit can be used to gain access to a remote Ethernet network via a Westermo PSTN, ISDN, GSM or radio modem. Multiple user identification and passwords along with a simple IP level firewall provides ample security. The H900 can also be used to get two networks for backup each other, where high stability is required, such as finance solutions. You can set one as main link, the other is for backup if the main is failed. Then the backup one will connect and build the link automatically.

Main Feature.
1. Up to 14.4Mbps/7.2Mbps download and 5.76M/2Mbps upload under HSPA networks.
2. Simple point to point applications
3. Keep online always.
4. Support dual sim, backup each other.
5. 5 RJ45 ethernet lan ports.

The H900 router is a 3G router, contains H900ev EVDO Router, H900d HSDPA Router and H900u HSPA Router.
